New Audi models: This is what the Ingolstadt-based company is planning by 2025
Audi is getting serious about electric: From 2026, no more models with combustion engines are to be launched on the market. Until 2025, popular combustion models will have to be updated again. We'll tell you what you can expect in the next few years.
Time is running out for combustion engines. Audi no longer wants to launch combustion engine models on the market earlier than other manufacturers. Until 2025, however, Audi fans can still breathe a sigh of relief, until then there will still be facelifts and new model generations of popular Audi models. We'll tell you what you can look forward to.

When will there be new Audi models?
Most of the new models are expected in the coming years. We'll tell you what they are.
2024
Q8 and RS Q8
Audi's flagship has received a facelift, which is already available. The Q8 and the SQ8 sports variant have been modernized.
The top variant of the Audi RS Q8 has also received a facelift. Although slightly delayed compared to the rest of the Q8 family, it has an output of up to 640 hp.
The Audi RS Q8 can be ordered from June 27.
S3 Facelift
The S3 gets a facelift for both the sedan and the Sportsback variant. From the 2nd quarter of 2024, the refreshed car can be purchased from dealers. New on board are more power and more agility thanks to the new Torque Splitter.
Q9
Audi is getting a new flagship – the Audi Q9.The huge SUV is to come both as a classic combustion engine and with plug-in hybrid technology. In addition, a lot of space is expected. We estimate that the premiere will take place in spring 2024.
A2 e-tron
Whether the Audi A2 will be launched again - but this time in the form of the A2 e-tron electric model - has not yet been confirmed. Actually, Audi doesn't want to build any more entry-level models in the future, but maybe they will make an exception here.
A6 e-tron
The A6 e-tron electric sedan was officially unveiled on July 31 and can be ordered from September. A 100 kWh battery enables ranges beyond 700 km. The A6 e-tron is also available as an Avant and thus has a model range of four variants at the market launch.
Q6 e-tron & Q6 Sportback e-tron
After a long delay, the Q6 e-tron will be launched in 2024. The premiere on March 18 shows a new beacon of hope for electric SUVs. With a powerful engine and good ranges, combined with a sophisticated new digital concept in the interior, the Q6 e-tron promises to set new standards.
At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, the Sportback variant of the Q6 has now also been presented. With four different variants with a larger battery or all-wheel drive as well as a more powerful engine, there is a lot to choose from in the SUV coupé.
A5 (formerly A4)
With the new generation of the Audi A4, the name is also changing – because from now on, even numbers are to be reserved for electric models. That's why the A4 is now becoming the A5 and the A5 Avant. With a mild hybrid drive, the new A5 was officially presented on 16 July. The A5 will be launched on the market from November 2024.
Q5 & Q5 Sportback
On September 2, the brand new Audi Q5 was presented. The new generation of the SUV continues Audi's electrification and initially only offers mild hybrid engines for gasoline and diesel at launch. A plug-in hybrid is to follow at a later date. The coupé version has also already been spotted on test drives. The Audi Q5 Sportback is therefore likely to follow the Q5 in the near future.
RS3 Facelift
Audi's sporty compact will get its facelift in 2024, after the current model was introduced in 2021. With design changes and improved, the Ingolstadt-based company has improved the RS3 again and fine-tuned it. The facelift for the Audi RS3 will be introduced to the market from October 2024.
R8 Successor
The successor to the Audi R8 will very certainly be an all-electric model. In 2024 at the earliest, rather later, the sports car is expected to climb to the top of the e-tron models. We still have to wait and see which platform it will be based on, and how many horsepower you can expect.
A6 e-tron Avant and Sportback
The new Audi A6 e-tron was officially presented at the end of July. It will be available as both a station wagon and a sedan, thus also filling the gap left by station wagons in the electric luxury class. With a range of up to more than 750 km, the new A6 is more than just suitable for long distances. With a system output of over 400 kW and a charging capacity of up to 270 kW, there is hardly anything left to be desired. The new A6 e-tron will be available to order as an Avant and Sportback from September 2024 and should then be at dealerships in 2025.
e-tron GT Facelift
Der elektrische Supersportwagen von Audi bekommt ein Facelift. Mit am Start für die Überarbeitung des Audi e-tron GT sind bis zu 925 PS und eine gewachsene Modellfamilie. Bis zu drei Varianten des elektrischen Flitzers gibt es nun zu kaufen.
2025
A4 e-tron
Auch die Mittelklasse-Limousine wird es bald nur noch elektrisch geben. Im Jahr 2024 gibt es erstmal als A5 die nächste A4-Generation, deshalb ist mit der elektrischen Variante nicht vor Ende 2025 zu rechnen. Bisher ist der A4 e-tron auch noch nicht offiziell bestätigt worden.
The new generation Audi Q3 was spotted during test drives and offers a brand new exterior. Almost uncamouflaged prototypes have already been sighted. The SUV is expected to be unveiled in 2024, and we expect it to be launched in early 2025.
Not much is known yet and the model is still very heavily camouflaged. A market launch is therefore not expected before 2025.
RS6 Avant e-tron
We think the idea of a performance electric station wagon is so good that we have created a render of a possibly planned RS6 Avant e-tron. Since there will be an A6 Avant e-tron, the idea of an electric RS model is not far-fetched. Unfortunately, it is not clear whether our wish will be heard by Audi. Perhaps the electric RS6 will simply remain a dream.
A market launch in 2025 still seems unrealistic at the moment, but who knows ...
Grand Sphere – A8 Successor
The Audi Grand Sphere, which has already been presented as a concept vehicle, is planned as an electric replacement for the Audi A8. The luxury sedan could deliver up to 1,150 hp, and a lot of advanced technology is also expected. The market launch will be in 2025 at the earliest, perhaps not until two years later.
Sky Sphere
The futuristic electric roadster called Sky Sphere was presented just over a year ago and, like the Grand Sphere, is also in the upcoming Audi luxury segment. It is questionable whether the production model will adopt all the details from the concept. But the convertible will certainly be futuristic and very sporty.
Activesphere
Das Activesphere Konzept ist das neueste und auch letzte Konzept der Sphere-Reihe, und wurde am 26. Januar 2023 offiziell vorgestellt. Es handelt sich um ein geländegängiges Offroad-Coupé, das auf Knopfdruck zum Pick-up umgewandelt werden kann. Doch es ist erstmal nur ein Konzept – wenn überhaupt, können wir frühestens um 2025 mit einem Serienfahrzeug rechnen.
Q7
Kurz vor dem Verbrennerstopp bringt Audi im Jahr 2025 noch eine neue Generation des Riesen-SUVs Q7 auf den Markt. Wir können uns vorstellen, dass der letzte Verbrenner-Q7 deutlich wuchtiger, präsenter und mächtiger sein wird, als die aktuelle Version.
RS5
With the announcement of the new A5, the RS5 sports sedan is of course not far away. As the successor to the RS4, the premium variant is already making its rounds as a camouflaged prototype. The vehicle is expected to be launched as a plug-in hybrid in 2025.
RS5 Avant
As a premium variant of the A5, the RS5 Avant will probably come in 2025. So far, only heavily camouflaged versions have been sighted. Nevertheless, we already have exclusive render images of the sports station wagon with plug-in hybrid.
New A7 series
The successor to the A6 will operate as the A7 due to the new naming at Audi. The presentation of the new A7 will take place either at the end of 2024 or at the beginning of 2025. An Avant version has also been spotted. The market launch will probably follow in 2025.
New RS7 Avant
With the revision of the "normal" A6, which is due in 2025, a successor is also on the horizon for the performance model. The first pictures of the test cars on test drive are already available and the new RS7 as the successor to the RS6 could come this time not only as an Avant, but also as a sedan. We expect official news about the RS7 towards the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026.
